VESTAL, N.Y. — Binghamton University has started its search for a new president after current president Harvey Stenger’s announcement that he will step down after 13 years of leadership.
The school has formed a presidential-search committee to oversee the process. It includes representatives from the Binghamton University Council, faculty, students, alumni, the Binghamton University Foundation, and other key stakeholders.
In addition, the university has retained WittKieffer, a national executive-search firm headquartered in the Chicago area, to assist in identifying and recruiting top candidates.

Seeking input
The school is inviting students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members to provide input on the “qualities and priorities they believe the next president should embody.”
Binghamton has set up a presidential-search website to serve as a central hub where the community can learn about the search process and timeline; receive updates from the search committee; submit feedback on the desired attributes and experience of the next university president.
