ROME, N.Y. — The Rome Health Foundation recently announced the addition of six new members of its board of directors.
The foundation board also elected GPO Federal Credit Union President and CEO Nick Mayhew to serve as its board president.
“I am honored to lead the Rome Health Foundation as Board President. Having been affiliated with Rome Health for many years, I am excited to take on this new role and support the transformation occurring in Rome,” Mayhew said in a Rome Health Foundation news release.

The new board members joining the Rome Health Foundation board of directors are: Lauren Felice, digital business strategist at National Grid; Melanie Kekis, assistant VP and branch manager at NBT Bank; Megan Popovich, respiratory department manager at Nunn’s Home Medical Equipment; Sarah Rushton, owner of Engelbert’s Jewelers; Jennifer Scanlon-Mogel, territory manager at Medtronic; and Dusty Shields, retired educator.
“These individuals bring a wealth of experience and a shared commitment to supporting the health and well-being of our community. We are excited to welcome them as we continue to fulfill our mission of enhancing healthcare at Rome Health,” Rome Health Foundation Executive Director Chester DiBari III said in the release. “Each of these new board members bring a unique perspective and skill set from finance, healthcare, education, community leadership, etc., and we are confident they will play an essential role in advancing our strategic goals and initiatives.”
In addition to welcoming new board members, the foundation recognized retiring board members Kristin Grunder, Shawn Weiman, Ann Pohl, and Sonya Ezell.
The Rome Health Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports the mission of Rome Health by raising funds for programs, equipment, and programmatic services that benefit the health of the community. Through philanthropic efforts and community partnerships, the foundation says it works to ensure that the residents of Rome and the surrounding areas have access to the highest level of health care.
