UTICA, N.Y. — Oneida County announced it will transition its government website and email domains to .gov on Wednesday, Nov. 21 to comply with a state mandate.
The main Oneida County website will switch from the current site — ocgov.net — to oneidacountyny.gov at that time.
“This new standardized .gov domain aids the public in identifying our sites as verified government websites and trusted sources,” Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente, Jr. said in a news release. “This change reinforces our commitment to safeguarding public data and building trust with our residents by prioritizing online safety through strong cybersecurity measures.”

The change affects all Oneida County government-related websites. New subdomains will also be created for the following:
- Oneida County Sheriff’s Office — switches to sheriff.oneidacountyny.gov on Nov. 21;
- Oneida County District Attorney — changes to oneidacountytraffic.oneidacountyny.gov on Nov. 21;
- Oneida County Board of Elections — switches to oneidacountynyvotes.gov by the end of 2024; and
- Oneida County Opioid Task Force — transitions to opioidtaskforce.oneidacountyny.gov on Nov. 21.
- Oneida County government email addresses will change from @ocgov.net to @oneidacountyny.gov.
The old domain will remain active for at least a year and will automatically redirect to the new site.
