ITHACA — Chemung Canal Trust Company announced it will be consolidating two of its three Ithaca branch offices.
The 806 West Buffalo St. location, known as the Station, will consolidate into Chemung’s branch at 304 Elmira Road. All staff at the Station will transfer to other nearby offices when the consolidation takes place on Nov. 15.
“This decision, which was not made lightly, is part of our strategy to adapt to the evolving needs of our customers while remaining deeply committed to Ithaca and Tompkins County,” Chemung President/CEO Anders M. Tomson contended in a news release. “We understand the significant role this office has played in the community’s history and its sentimental value to our customers and the community. As custodians of this historically important landmark, we look forward to transferring the property to a new use which will contribute to the history and vibrancy of this great community.”
