ROME, N.Y. — The Mohawk Valley EDGE executive committee has appointed Shawna Papale as acting president in the wake of the March 6 passing of the economic-development organization’s longtime president Steve DiMeo, EDGE announced Wednesday.
Papale is a 28-year veteran of the organization, most recently serving as chief administrative officer. Her knowledge of EDGE’s mission, values, and operational intricacies uniquely position her to navigate the organization’s transitional period, EDGE contends.
“Leveraging her extensive experience, Shawna will be able to provide unwavering support to our dedicated team and maintain the high standards of excellence established by Steve,” EDGE said in a statement. “Her leadership will ensure continuity within EDGE’s projects, communications, and initiatives. Furthermore, she will manage EDGE’s strategic-planning efforts to foster long-term and short-term growth, collaborating closely with EDGE staff, the board of directors, and local partners to refine our vision and enhance the organization for the years to come.”
