“We are extremely pleased to have someone as talented and experienced as John join our team at the Masonic Medical Research Laboratory,” David Schneeweiss, president of the MMRL board of directors, said in the news release. “John brings with him more than thirty years of experience as a financial and administrative executive having recently served as city chamberlain for the City of Elmira. In this newly created position, he will focus primarily on the finances and administration of the laboratory.”
A certified public accountant (CPA) since 1976, Zielinski has held senior level finance positions throughout the Mohawk Valley and upstate New York.
His past positions include serving as VP of finance and CFO of Momentum Manufacturing Corporation. He also served as assistant director of finance at St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital and CFO of the J.M. Murray Center in Cortland.
He also served as VP of administration and finance of Mohawk Valley EDGE. In that role, Zielinski was responsible for the assets of nine related entities, totaling more than $87 million.
“It’s truly an exciting opportunity to join the Masonic Medical Research Laboratory,” Zielinski said in the news release. “The laboratory is a highly regarded and respected cardiac-research institute. I look forward to working with the multi-talented members of the scientific and administrative teams.”
