UTICA, N.Y. — The proposed 2017-18 budget for the City of Utica totals $69 million and comes “with no tax increase.”
Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri’s proposal increases spending by 3.5 percent compared to the City’s 2009-2010 budget nine years ago, “a testament to the City’s fiscal discipline,” the City of Utica boasted in a news release issued Thursday.
The Utica Common Council is now reviewing the budget.

Palmieri has scheduled five community budget meetings to share details with residents. They include:
- East Utica on Tuesday at Mt. Carmel Church beginning at 6:00 p.m.
- West Utica on Wednesday at the West Utica Senior Center beginning at 7:00 p.m.
- North Utica on Feb. 27 in the North Utica Senior Center beginning at 6:30 p.m.
- South Utica on March 1 in the Jewish Community Center beginning at 6:00 p.m.
- Cornhill on March 8 in the Empowerment Center beginning at 6:30 p.m.
