SYRACUSE, N.Y. — POMCO Group, a third-party administrator of self-funded health-care and risk-management plans, says it’s looking to hire 55 new customer-service employees at its corporate headquarters in the Eastwood section of Syracuse.
The company announced its employee recruitment in a news release issued Thursday.
POMCO wants to fill the positions in time for the next training class that begins on Feb. 16, the company said in response to an email inquiry from CNYBJ.

POMCO is working with recruiting firms Contemporary Personnel Staffing, Inc. (CPS) of Salina and C.R. Fletcher Associates, Inc. of Syracuse to identify “highly qualified” local candidates to fill the 55 jobs.
The company is also partnering with local nonprofit, workforce-development agencies to find candidates, it added.
Following completion of the February training class, POMCO will have hired 86 new employees since June 2014, increasing the firm’s employee count to 696.
POMCO is adding the new employees in response to growth that the company says includes both local and national clients.
The firm has opened an office in Los Angeles, the firm’s second in California, following its expansion in the western U.S.
Besides California, the firm is also offering services in Texas, Colorado, Arizona, and Nevada.
But POMCO also notes in its news release that its employee base remains centered in Syracuse.
