New York dairy farms produced 1.11 billion pounds of milk in November, up 3.8 percent from the year-earlier period, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service, New York Field Office.
The preliminary milk price received by New York farmers in November was $24.50 per hundredweight, down $1.40 from October, but up $1.60 from November 2013, the field office said.
Production per cow averaged 1,805 pounds in November, up 55 pounds from November 2013.
