UTICA, N.Y. — The Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce has named Scott Perra its 2014 Business Person of the Year.
Perra is president and CEO of Mohawk Valley Health System, the parent company of Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare and St. Elizabeth Medical Center, both of Utica.
The organization will honor Perra during its annual membership meeting on April 22, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Hart’s Hill Inn

The event will also feature Robert Duffy, president and CEO of Rochester Business Alliance, as the keynote speaker, according to a Greater Utica Chamber news release.
Duffy had previously served as New York’s lieutenant governor during Gov. Cuomo’s first term.
The chamber awards its “Business Person of the Year” honor to the person who has shown “exemplary” service to the chamber and/or the community.
The individual must be a chamber member, or an employee of a chamber member, “in good standing,” the organization said in its release.
Perra joined St. Luke’s-Memorial Hospital Center in 1985, later becoming the executive vice president and CEO in 1989. He remained in the position through the Faxton Hospital and St. Luke’s-Memorial Hospital Center consolidation beginning in November 1998.
The hospital appointed Perra as president and CEO in January 2009, according to the release.
