Hofmann is initially offering its Handwich “exclusively” at SavOn stores before selling it nationwide.
The company has designed the Handwich as an “on-the-go snack or a meal.”
“The Handwich brand allows us to merge the always fresh and trusted qualities of a classic butcher shop with today’s demand for convenience in a time pressed society,” Reginald Bailey, CEO of Hofmann, said in the news release.
The Hofmann Handwich collection features four varieties of Hofmann franks and sausages wrapped in a Brioche-style artisan roll. The new line comes in single-serve, microwavable pouches, the company added.
All four varieties of the Hofmann Handwich will be available throughout Central New York, exclusively at SavOn locations for a limited time, and then at additional retailers, including Byrne Dairy.
Oneida Nation Enterprises in 2012 and a group of investors made a “significant” investment in the Hofmann Sausage Company and “helped transition the company from a regional icon to a national brand,” the news release boasted.
Hofmann products are now available throughout the entire Northeast, Midwest, and the South, including Hofmann Hots, the company’s first quick-serve restaurant, in Dallas, Texas, according to the release.
