SYRACUSE — Leadership Greater Syracuse (LGS) says it is looking for applicants for its Class of 2015 community-leadership training program.
The nonprofit says it seeks individuals who “believe in Central New York and who want to do their part to make it even better.” LGS says its mission is to inspire current and future leaders to make a difference in the community where they live and work.
“We immerse Central New Yorkers in our community’s accomplishments and issues, and give them the skills to effect change,” LGS Executive Director Pam Brunet said in a news release.

The program runs from January through November, starting with an overnight retreat followed by one full day a month of programming.
Participants in LGS acquire “life-long skills” that advance them into decision-making roles in the community and in the workplace, the organization contends. “With just over 1,000 graduates since 1991, hundreds of past participants have served on non-profit boards of directors, held public office and have given their time, talent and treasure to make CNY a stronger and healthier community,” Brunet said.
The application for the LGS Class of 2015 is available at the organization’s web site: www.leadershipgreatersyracuse.org. The deadline to apply is Friday, Sept. 5.
LGS began as a collaboration of the City of Syracuse, Onondaga County, Onondaga Community College, and CenterState CEO. The organization will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2015.
