The federal government has awarded Syracuse Hancock International Airport with a grant to help it purchase safety equipment.
The $63,000 grant will go toward aircraft rescue and firefighting proximity suits to meet current federal requirements. The funding comes from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
“This is an important investment for Syracuse Hancock International Airport,” U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D–NY) said in a news release. “This grant will help provide better, safer service for travelers in Central New York.”
