Funds are available for agencies that work with people suffering from opioid abuse in the city of Syracuse and provide prevention and treatment strategies, per the City’s department of neighborhood and business development.
The request for proposals (RFP’s) opened on Aug. 10 and will close on Oct. 3 at 2:30 p.m., the City said.

The department says the goal of the RFP is to use the funding specifically for treatment and prevention programs that are “innovative;” use evidence-based approaches to change; address the root cause of the problems; and “support with dignity” those community members living with and/or recovering from substance-abuse disorders.
