SYRACUSE — St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center found a new vice president for development to replace an executive who retired at the end of last year.
The nonprofit 431-bed Syracuse hospital and health-care system made Douglas Smith vice president for development. Smith has over 30 years of experience in health care and higher education. He was recently vice president of development and foundation president at Greater Baltimore Medical Center.
His fundraising experience includes positions at Pittsburgh Mercy Health System and Vail Valley Medical Center in Colorado. Smith holds a master’s degree in public management from Carnegie Mellon University and he’s been a member of the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy for over 25 years.
