SYRACUSE — The CEO of the Syracuse Rescue Mission will speak today in Washington, D.C. to a group of Republican members of the House of Representatives.
Alan Thornton will speak to the House Republican Study Committee on Anti-Poverty about the work of rescue missions and effective ways to communication about poverty. Thornton was invited to speak with the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions, according to the Rescue Mission.
Thornton will speak specifically about the Rescue Mission’s work to fight hunger and homelessness in Central New York. A former Rescue Mission resident will also speak at the briefing.
