BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — The New York Skin & Vein Center (NYSVC) will be the “exclusive distributor” of the HeartPartner, a product developed by Sonostics Inc., a Binghamton University spinoff.
Dr. Eric Dohner, a varicose vein specialist and founder of NYSVC, will distribute the HeartPartner in the five counties where he practices, Sonostics said in a news release issued Thursday afternoon.
Under their deal, the NYSVC will distribute the HeartPartner in Broome, Madison, Otsego, Chenango, and Delaware counties.

NYSVC has offices in Binghamton, Norwich, Oneonta, Hamilton and Walton.
Sonostics designed and developed the HeartPartner, which exercises a person’s secondary heart muscles — the soleus muscles — in the lower legs.
That exercise seeks to improve conditions that poor circulation causes.
The HeartPartner’s targeted vibration technology works to reduce lower limb fluid pooling that can cause symptoms such as chronic fatigue, dizziness, blurred vision, cognitive dysfunction, along with swelling of the legs, feet, and varicose veins.
Sonostics, which has offices in Endicott and Camillus, has also announced its plans to open a third office in White Plains in Westchester County in July.
A new sales and development team will begin working in White Plains July 8.
Sonostics intends to shift the production of its HeartPartner device to Central New York over the next three years, a move that would create up to 135 local manufacturing jobs.
