NEW HARTFORD — Express Employment Professionals, a franchise that focuses on helping people find jobs and providing human-resources services for businesses, announced it plans to open a Utica–Rome location in New Hartford.
Franchisees John and Lori Calabrese will open the business on Aug. 12 at 4660 Commercial Drive in New Hartford, the company said in a news release.
The new office will assist local job seekers in finding employment and help area businesses find qualified employees.

Before joining Express Employment, John Calabrese worked in global commercial operations for Pfizer, Inc. (NYSE: PFE), a New York City–based pharmaceutical company, according to Express Employment.
John Calabrese brings more than 20 years business experience to the franchise, the company said.
Lori Calabrese has worked in economic and community development for more than 20 years, according to Express Employment, including positions with the state of New York, city of Utica, Utica College, and Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare, according to Express Employment.
Founded in 1983, Express Employment Professionals began franchising in 1985 and has 645 locations throughout the U.S., Canada, and South Africa, according to the website for Entrepreneur magazine.
