AUBURN, N.Y. — The Auburn Doubledays say the cost for a family of four to attend one of their games is 20 percent less than the minor-league baseball average.
The Doubledays cite the Minor League Baseball Fan Cost Index in announcing the figure in a news release the club distributed on Tuesday.
Every minor-league team self reports their data and the Minor League Baseball office compiles the data, Mike Voutsinas, general manager of the Auburn Doubledays, said in response to a BJNN email inquiry.

The Auburn Doubledays of the New York-Penn League are the Single-A, short-season affiliation of the Washington Nationals.
The study found a family of four can attend a Doubledays’ game in 2015 for $51.00, which is the same as 2014.
Throughout minor-league baseball, the average price for a family of four to attend a game is $64.18, which is $13.18 more than a Doubledays game.
MiLB.com, the website for minor-league baseball, announced the $64.18 figure in a news release posted on the website on Tuesday.
The Fan Cost Index includes parking, two adult tickets, two child tickets, four hot dogs, two sodas, two beers, and a program or scorecard.
The team notes that parking at Falcon Park, their home venue, is free of charge.
“Last year the number was exactly the same for us,” Voutsinas said in the team’s news release. “Here in Auburn, we’re happy to say that we are one of the most budget friendly options in all of Minor League Baseball.”
The average Fan Cost Index for Single-A, or short-season games, is $57.32, which is $6.32 more than a typical Doubledays game, the team said.
The Doubledays are scheduled to open the 2015 season on Friday at Batavia. Opening Night at Falcon Park is scheduled for June 25 against the West Virginia Black Bears.
