DeWITT — Caz Limo, Inc., a well-known charter bus and limousine service in Central New York, has closed its doors due to the firm’s “financial situation.”
That’s according to a note dated Feb. 19 and posted on a window leading to the company’s customer-service area at its 5908 Butternut Drive facility in DeWitt
The note read, “Due to the financial situation at Caz Limo, Inc. we regret to inform you that Caz Limo has closed its doors after 13 years. It is devastating news to everyone that has worked so hard to make the company thrive and prosper for so long. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.”

Phone calls to the firm’s office Wednesday afternoon were not answered. The Caz Limo website (www.cazlimo.com), as of late in the afternoon, displayed a purple-colored field and a small picture of a chauffeur next to a black limousine. At the top of the page, it read: “Effective 2/19 Caz Limo Inc. has been closed.”
An article published in the Sept. 19, 2008 issue of The Central New York Business Journal indicated Caz Limo employed 50 full and part-time employees and generated $2.5 million in revenue in 2007. The same article indicated Caz Limo expected revenue of $3.5 million in 2008 and $4.5 million in 2009.
That article focused on the firm’s launch of daily service from Syracuse to New York City on a 32-passenger, executive-style coach bus.
At the time, Caz Limo was headquartered at 311 Wavel St. in DeWitt.
