SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Onondaga County Health Department at midday on Saturday reported that a fourth county resident had died from COVID-19, the illness caused by the coronavirus.
“This individual was identified as an elderly male in his late 80s with significant underlying health conditions and had been hospitalized. For reasons of medical privacy, the department will not be releasing additional information,” Dr. Indu Gupta, Onondaga County Commissioner of Health, said in a statement.
The announcement came two days after the health department had reported two new deaths on Thursday afternoon. One was a man in his 80s with previous health problems and the other was a woman in her late 60s who also had existing underlying medical issues.
