CANASTOTA, N.Y. — The Madison County Health Department has confirmed that an employee at the Fastrac at 3388 Seneca Turnpike in Canastota has tested positive for COVID-19.
The department additionally said that a customer who visited the Red Apple in Oneida has also tested positive for the coronavirus.
Members of the public who visited the Fastrac on June 19 between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. and on June 20 between 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. should self-monitor for symptoms.

“The Fastrac did the right thing by shutting down their location to clean the facility after one of their employees tested positive for COVID-19,” Madison County Public Health Director Eric Faisst said in a statement. “It was determined this employee worked on the above dates and was wearing a face covering while at work. Anyone who visited the store during the identified time frame should monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19 until July 4, 2020.”
After investigating to identify all close contacts, the department determined the customer visited the Red Apple on June 21 and was not wearing a face covering, according to Faisst.
“Anyone who visited the store during the identified time frame should monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19 until July 5,” he added.
