UTICA, N.Y. — Oneida County on Wednesday reported two COVID-19-related deaths, increasing the county’s death toll from the virus to 100.
Both of the deaths reported Wednesday are “nursing-home related,” the county said in its daily update.
Oneida County also reported 14 new positive cases, increasing its total case count to 1,699.

Of the positive tests reported on Wednesday, one involves a nursing-home resident.
Of the 1,699 cases, 25 patients are hospitalized in Oneida County, including 23 at the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) and two at Rome Memorial Hospital (RMH). Four patients are in hospitals outside Oneida County.
Of those in Oneida County hospitals, 14 patients are nursing-home residents receiving acute care, including 13 at MVHS and one at RMH, per Oneida County government.
Oneida County’s Wednesday report also indicates that the county has 239 active positive cases and that 1,360 positive cases have been resolved.
In addition, health-care workers have conducted 54,096 tests, with 52,397 negative results.
Wednesday’s quarantine numbers aren’t available because the Oneida County Health Department is in the process of transitioning from an internal tracking system to a New York State reporting system, Oneida County said. The quarantine numbers will be updated retroactively when the transition is complete.
In its Tuesday update, the county reported 245 patients were under mandatory quarantine, 34 under precautionary quarantine, and 12,763 were discharged from mandatory and precautionary quarantine.
