Oneida County announces possible public exposure to virus at 4 area locations

UTICA, N.Y. — Oneida County officials on Thursday reported recent, possible public exposure to the coronavirus at four area locations, including a state park and a pair of big-box retailers.

Oneida County also reported the following COVID-19 statistics:

• 10 new virus cases (None are nursing-home residents), 1,817 total
• 1 new COVID-19-related death, 110 total
• 18 coronavirus patients are hospitalized in Oneida County (17 at MVHS, 1 at Rome Memorial)
• 2 patients are admitted in hospitals outside Oneida County
• 8 hospitalized patients in the county are nursing-home residents receiving acute care (7 at MVHS, 1 at Rome Memorial)
• 189 active positive cases
• 1,518 people with the virus have recovered
• 61,869 total tests have been conducted.
• 60,052 total negative results

The county also said that quarantine numbers will be unavailable until the Oneida County Health Department transitions from its internal reporting system to New York State’s. The quarantine numbers will be updated retroactively once that process is completed.
