Five regional hospitals are among 86 New York hospitals that will share $680 million of a new $10 billion allocation of federal funding designated for COVID-19 “hot spot” hospitals.
The funding was secured as part of the CARES Act, U.S. Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D–N.Y.) and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D–N.Y.) said in a news release.
The senators explained that the funding builds upon the $4.3 billion announced in April for New York’s “hot spot” hospitals and providers.

- Upstate University Hospital downtown campus in Syracuse — $13.7 million
- St Joseph’s Health Hospital in Syracuse — $8.05 million
- St Luke’s campus of the Mohawk Valley Health System in Utica — $6.55 million
- Rome Memorial Hospital — $2.5 million
- UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich -— $2.4 million
