UTICA, N.Y. — The City of Utica is seeking artists to design a sculpture to honor essential workers who have kept their communities safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri — in partnership with Sculpture Space Inc. and Empire Recycling Corporation — have announced a request for proposal (RFP) for artists who want to get involved.
The sculpture will be located in the center roundabout of Oriskany Street/Route 5S once the New York State Department of Transportation’s (NYSDOT) reconstruction project is completed. It’s currently the intersection of Oriskany and John Streets.
