UTICA, N.Y. — The number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Oneida County hospitals has reached 100 as the virus continues to spread in the county and the region.
Officials on Monday said 80 people are hospitalized with the illness at Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) and 20 at Rome Memorial Hospital (RMH). The county said 18 of the hospitalized are nursing-home residents.
The 100 total is up from 91 hospitalized on Sunday, 88 on Saturday, and 73 a week ago. Going back only five weeks to Nov. 2, just 14 patients were in Oneida County hospitals with COVID-19.

- 125 new positive cases, 6,385 total (5 of the new cases are nursing-home residents)
- 2,734 active positive cases (up by 18 from a day prior and up by 1,151 from a week earlier)
- 1 new COVID-19-related death, 161 total (13 deaths have come in the last week)
- 7 more county residents are hospitalized outside of Oneida County.
- 3,490 positive cases have been resolved
- 312,927 total negative results
- 319,312 total tests
- 2,734 in mandatory isolation
- 1,126 in mandatory quarantine
