WAMPSVILLE, N.Y. — Madison County announced that its office complex will be limited to essential in-person operations only — effective Monday, Dec 21 — and continuing until Jan. 18.
The county cites the increase of COVID-19 cases throughout the region as the reason for what it calls a “difficult” decision.
The county’s workforce will continue working, but they’re working from home or in office in a scaled down manner, Madison County tells CNYBJ in an email message.

“The move to limit services to essential only [for Madison] County again is in the best interest to protect the health and safety of our employees as well as our residents, especially as we get through the next few weeks of the holiday season,” John Becker, chairman of the Madison County Board of Supervisors, said in a release. “We thank you all for your patience and understanding during this time. Please remember that we are all in this together, we need to check on each other and keep our neighbor’s health and well-being in mind as well as our own.”
