ROME, N.Y. — Generous Roasting, located in the log cabin at the Delta Lake Bible Conference Center just north of Rome, will formally open on Thursday, Jan. 13.
The roaster, situated at 6420 Pillmore Drive in the town of Lee, will celebrate its grand opening at 11 a.m. Representatives from the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce will present the “First Dollar of Profit” award to Executive Director Stephen Clark during the event.
Generous Roasting, a small-batch specialty coffee roaster, is a social enterprise of Haven Camps, Inc. created to provide employment and work experience for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities while producing a quality product.

Generous Roasting began with the purchase of Furnace Hills Coffee. Dave Baldwin started Furnace Hills 11 years ago with a commitment to hire people with developmental disabilities. His daughter Erin, who has Down syndrome, was the first employee.
