CLINTON, N.Y. — Hamilton College has chosen its commencement speaker for the graduation ceremony set for the morning of May 22 in the Margaret Bundy Scott Field House.
Gillian Zucker — president of business operations for the NBA’s L.A. Clippers and a 1990 graduate of Hamilton College — will deliver the commencement address and receive an honorary degree.
In addition to Zucker, Hamilton College will also award honorary degrees to former LaGuardia Community College President Gail Mellow, and to Elaine Weiss. She is the author of the critically acclaimed “The Woman’s Hour: The Great Fight to Win the Vote,” and a 1973 graduate of Kirkland College, a woman’s college that merged with Hamilton in 1978, per a Hamilton news release.

Mellow will deliver the baccalaureate address on the afternoon of May 21 in the Scott Field House.
Hamilton College expects a class of 504 students to earn bachelor’s degrees during this year’s commencement ceremony. Guests are welcome to attend both ceremonies but must be vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19, the college said.
