VESTAL, N.Y. — The Stephen David Ross University and Community Projects Fund at Binghamton University is now accepting applications for its 2022 grant cycle.
Ross — a distinguished professor emeritus — established the fund to “advance working partnerships” between the University and the community, per a Binghamton University news release.
Ross Fund grants are awarded based on several priorities. They include promotion of collaboration and cooperation between university and community groups, innovative use of the talents and resources of project partners, demonstrated commitment to the use of existing funds or to obtaining matching funds, and significant, enduring and positive difference in the quality of life of the community.

Most recently, the fund awarded grants to Gigi’s Playhouse and Binghamton University’s division of speech and language pathology to bring free speech and language services to individuals with Down syndrome; and to BOCES and the University’s department of teaching, learning and educational leadership to build a “pipeline of diverse educators in our local schools.”
In 2022, the fund will award about $24,000 in grants to support initiatives carried out through collaborations between local nonprofit organizations and Binghamton University partners, the university said. Individual grants range from $1,000 to $24,000. Grant funds are available beginning July 1.
