UTICA, N.Y. — Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri announced a new parking lot in the city that will add 130 public parking spaces in the Bagg’s Square area.
“Due to the investment and vision of many small business owners, Bagg’s Square and the downtown corridor have seen remarkable transformation over the past decade,” Palmieri said in a press release. “Government must listen to the concerns and needs of its business owners. In speaking with the business owners throughout Bagg’s Square, the number one issue they raised was available parking. I’m pleased the city, in working with its partners, is able to greatly expand available parking in this area.”
The lot, located at John and Broad streets under the North Genesee Street bridge, will have 26 LED lights that are Dark Sky compliant along with asphalt paving, drainage, granite curbing, new sidewalks, and hydroseeding.
