OWEGO, N.Y. — The Tioga County Chamber of Commerce Foundation, which serves as the fundraising arm of the chamber, has recently relaunched.
The newly reinvigorated organization now includes a Tioga County Jr. Chamber. Some of the foundation’s activities include studies and research in economic planning and development, finance, housing, education and training, health, and human relations; conducting training courses, seminars, and discussion groups; and activity that promotes the understanding, unification, and improved relations between different groups.
The foundation’s board includes Sabrina Henriques, Debbie Howard, Abbey Ortu, Tonya Johnson, and Tia Tagliaferro.

A new part of the foundation is a junior chamber. Although it hasn’t launched yet, the mission according to the chamber’s website is to create a better world by empowering young people.
Focus areas will include promoting and supporting local businesses, civic and cultural diversity, developing leadership skills, community service, brainstorming business ideas, and interacting with business professionals to create a healthy business climate.
“We believe the best way to ensure success is to get the next generation involved now,” the chamber’s website says.
