ROME, N.Y. — The YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley says more than 500 new members have joined the organization since Dec. 1.

The growth follows the renovations currently underway at the Rome Family YMCA, which include a new cardio center, gymnasium, and indoor cycling studio, per its Monday announcement.

The personal training room will be finalized by early February for one-on-one and small-group sessions, enabling certified trainers to help members in reaching their fitness goals, the YMCA said. The space also includes new equipment for stretching and strength. A functional fitness center will also open soon, “enhancing our offerings by providing equipment designed for real-world movements.”

“The renovations reflect our commitment to supporting community health and well-being for generations to come,” Hank Leo, CEO of the YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley, said in the announcement. “We look forward to seeing how our members utilize these new spaces and the impact they have on our overall YMCA community.”

The YMCA says it works with various health-insurance plans to accept wellness benefits, helping to reduce costs for its members.

YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley serves the communities of Rome, Oneida, and Whitesboro. The nonprofit has two primary branches in Rome and Oneida and school-age childcare in the Whitesboro area.
