ROME, N.Y. — The federal government has awarded Assured Information Security (AIS) of Rome a contract for work with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
It’s for the MDA Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense (SHIELD), which is described as an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract with a ceiling of $151 billion, AIS said.
SHIELD is a program focused on America’s missile-defense capabilities through next-generation technologies and innovative approaches. SHIELD is a multiple-award IDIQ contract program designed to allow MDA and other entities of the U.S. Department of Defense to “rapidly compete and deliver innovative capabilities with increased speed and agility.” The contract encompasses a broad range of work areas supporting the rapid delivery of capabilities to the warfighter, AIS said.

Work on the contract could continue through December 2035 if all options are exercised, AIS noted.
