HERKIMER, N.Y. — Valley Residential Services of the Cooperstown–based Bassett Healthcare Network has received a nearly $11,000 grant from the Mohawk Valley COVID-19 Response Fund.
The Herkimer facility will use the funding to defray COVID-19 expenses and support residents’ virtual interaction with family and friends.
The Mohawk Valley COVID-19 Response Fund is a partnership of the Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties and the United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area.
“This funding allows us to purchase the required personal protective equipment for staff and residents which is critical to minimizing the exposure and spread of the virus. It also reduces the social isolation residents have felt by virtually connecting them with family and friends using the newly purchased iPads,” Lisa Betrus, president of the Valley Health & Residential Services, said in a statement.
