Upstate Shredding – Weitsman Recycling has hired two environmental, health, and safety professionals, WILLIAM MARZESKI and JOAN ROOF, who will evaluate and enhance company safety protocols and ensure safety standards. As director of health and safety compliance, Marzeski will travel to each of the Weitsman facilities in New York and Pennsylvania. As assistant director of health and safety compliance, Roof will directly assist Marzeski in all responsibilities in order to develop, promote, and maintain optimum workplace-safety standards. Marzeski has more than 30 years of experience in safety management. His résumé includes a decade working as a federal OSHA senior compliance officer and serving the New York City Department of Environmental Protection as an environmental, health, and safety officer. Roof has 28 years of experience in workplace safety management, and holds certifications including occupational safety and health professional and occupational safety and health manager. She spent a considerable portion of her career with Jacobs Engineering Group, where she served as health, safety, and environment manager.
