SALINA, N.Y. — The Town of Salina this week announced $1 million for the commercial revitalization of Old Liverpool Road.
This funding is part of the $3 million American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds provided to the Town.
Those interested must apply for funding and recipients must match any money awarded with 25 percent of their own funds, the Town of Salina said in
its Wednesday announcement.

Applications are available on the Town’s website — www.salina.ny.us — and will be accepted until April 17 of this year.
The Town wants to “give back to the small businesses that weathered the pandemic,” per its announcement. Recipients can use the funding to make exterior improvements to buildings along the Old Liverpool Road commercial corridor.
“We think this is a great way to improve our streetscape and made that business corridor much more attractive,” Town Supervisor Nick Paro said.
Improvements can include new siding, landscaping, paving, or other various improvement that will “enhance curb appeal.”
“While many cities, counties, and towns are using ARPA funds to balance their budgets or stabilize operations, the Town of Salina is in a very fortunate position to use these funds to directly impact the small business community in our town,” Matt Cushing, 2nd ward councilor also said in Salina’s announcement.
