SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse University women’s basketball on Monday night secured a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
The Orange women earned the No. 8 seed in the Kansas City (Midwest) Region and will face ninth-seeded Oklahoma State on Saturday in Starkville, Mississippi.
Tip-off is slated for 3:30 p.m. on ESPN2.
Saturday’s matchup with the Cowgirls represents the first time in program history that Syracuse has played Oklahoma State.
Should the Orange advance, they will face the winner of the matchup between the region’s No. 1 seed Mississippi State and 16th seeded Nicholls on Monday.
This is the 7th NCAA Tournament appearance for Syracuse under head coach Quentin Hillsman. In his tenure, the Orange women are 8-6 in the big dance, including an appearance in the 2016 tournament championship game, an 82-51 loss to the University of Connecticut.
