GEDDES, N.Y. — The Warren Haynes Band will headline this year’s New York State Blues Festival, which is set for Chevy Court at the New York State Fairgrounds June 12-14 in the town of Geddes.

The Warren Haynes Band will perform Saturday night, per the Monday announcement.

Haynes is a former member of the Allman Brothers Band and the Dead as well as a founding member of the group Gov’t Mule.

The three-day Blues Festival is a free festival with all ages — and lawn chairs — welcome.

Besides the Warren Haynes Band, it will also include Southern Avenue, a group from Memphis, Tennessee, to close out the Friday evening performance.

The lineup also includes The Kingsnakes; Blue Avenue featuring Joanna Nix & Mark Doyle; and Ron Spencer’s Jumpstart 20th Anniversary.

The Three Kings featuring D.K. Harrell, Chris Cain and Albert Castiglia, will pay tribute to blues icons B.B. King, Albert King, and Freddie King in the Thursday night June 12 headliner spot, along with support from Virginia–based Chris O’Leary Band and Florida’s Kat Riggins & Her Blues Revival.

The Ripcords, The Westcott Jug Suckers, and Jake Lozo Band are also set to perform. Blues Ignition, the festival’s student band, begins Saturday’s performances on the main stage at 12 p.m. Side stage acoustic acts will perform main stage changeovers. The acts include performances by Skip Murphy & Big D. Tim Herron, Tom Barnes and the Shylocks Duo.

Besides the music, food vendors will also be on site, and both wine and beer will be available for sale. Retail & craft vendors will also be set up market style for festival goers.

The organizer says parking in the Fairground’s Brown Lot is available for $10 per car and $5 per motorcycle. Americans with Disabilities Act parking is in the Emerald Lot.

Proceeds from the parking fees help to offset expenses and to keep the New York State Blues Festival a free event.

The announcement also noted that for those interested, ProAct Blues Club VIP passes are currently available. Early bird pricing is in effect through Sunday April 13. In addition, the festival is offering onsite camping at the Fairground’s Empire RV Park with two-night and three-night packages available. In addition, area participating hotels are offering discounted rates for festival attendees.
