New Hartford real-estate firm to merge with RealtyUSA

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. — The Weichert Realtors Campion-Weeks agency of New Hartford will merge with RealtyUSA, effective Thursday.

RealtyUSA, which currently operates a sales office at 147 Genesee St. in New Hartford, plans to consolidate that office into the nearby Weichert Realtors Campion-Weeks office at 141 Genesee St., RealtyUSA said in a news release issued Tuesday.

RealtyUSA didn’t release any terms of its deal with Weichert Realtors Campion-Weeks.

Jerry Orsaeo, president and CEO of the Weichert Realtors Campion-Weeks office, will continue to manage the branch.

“The key to a successful merger is compatibility and having known Jerry Orsaeo for many years, I know we share the same values and commitment to our agents and the industry,” Merle Whitehead, president and CEO of RealtyUSA, said in the news release.

The consolidated offices will now have a total of 30 agents, RealtyUSA said.

RealtyUSA, which is based in the Buffalo suburb of Williamsville, describes itself as the largest independent real-estate company in New York state with more than 67 offices and about 2,300 agents and employees.

The company in 2014 handled more than 21,000 transactions totaling $3.5 billion in sales.

The firm’s markets include the Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Northern New York, Utica, Binghamton, and Albany regions, along with Montrose, Pennsylvania.
