ITHACA, N.Y. — The City of Ithaca is applying for the New York State Downtown Revitalization Initiative’s (DRI) ninth round of funding.
If selected, Ithaca will receive $10 million in DRI funding and is looking for proposals for projects to benefit from that funding. The Ithaca DRI Steering Committee is seeking proposals centered around economic development, improvement to infrastructure, recreation, natural resources, and cultural and historic enrichment.
“We are excited to open this DRI call for projects,” Ithaca Mayor Robert Cantelmo said in an announcement. “These funds would go towards projects that transform the physical environment of downtown and will benefit the quality of life and downtown experience of our residents, visitors, and future generations. It is essential that we welcome as many eligible applications as possible in order to move forward with the strongest set of projects to be included in the city’s application.”

National Labor Relations Board Bans “Captive Audience” Meetings
Since 1948, the National Labor Relations Board respected an employer’s right to hold mandatory paid employee meetings during company time so that its views about unionization could be directly communicated
Organizations, businesses, and entities planning capital investments within the designated DRI boundary are encouraged to submit a proposal by July 14 at 5 p.m. Interested entities can submit proposals electronically, in person, or by mail.
The committee will evaluate proposed projects based on their alignment with the goals of the DRI program and the city’s downtown vision as well as their potential to be a catalyst for development. The community will have an opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed projects before the committee makes its final selection which ones to include with its DRI application to the state.
