SYRACUSE, N.Y. — CenterState CEO has announced the 11 finalists in four categories for its annual Business of the Year honor.
CenterState CEO’s Business of the Year finalists “were selected from a competitive pool nominated for this honor,” the organization said in a news release issued Friday.
TCGplayer.com of Syracuse; Saab Defense & Security USA LLC of DeWitt; and Salina–based Mohawk Global Logistics are the finalists in the “More than 50 employees” category.

CenterState CEO also lists Digital Hyve, a Syracuse–based digital-marketing agency; CPS Recruitment, a Salina–based staffing and recruitment firm; and Watertown–based Roth Industries of North America, which focuses on energy production, distribution, and storage products, as the finalists in the “Less than 50 employees” category.
Buffalo–based M & T Bank (NYSE: MTB); Oswego–based Pathfinder Bank; and Hotel Syracuse Restoration, LLC are the finalists in the “Community Involvement” category.
In addition, Catholic Charities of Onondaga County and McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Center, both of Syracuse, are the finalists in the “Not-for-Profit” category.
The organization will announce the finalists in a fifth category, Minority-owned Business, “at a later date,” the organization said.
“We are proud to recognize these member businesses for their outstanding success and for the role they play in strengthening our community,” Robert Simpson, president and CEO of CenterState CEO, said in its news release. “Over the last year, these companies have excelled in creating jobs, making new investments and engaging with the community.”
The organization will recognize a single company in each category at CenterState CEO’s 2017 annual meeting, which is scheduled on April 27.
CenterState CEO will base the recognition on the firm’s commitment to growth; improving the community; and creating “tangible” impacts on the local economy.
The theme of this year’s annual meeting, “break through,” will also explore how businesses and communities can “surmount challenges and seize opportunities with a bolder vision for the future.”
