    Harris Beach PLLC announced that Barry Kozak has joined the law firm as chief operating officer.

    Kozak replaces William Kedley, who retired after 33 years with Harris Beach, the firm said in a news release.

    As COO, Kozak will direct all business and administrative operations across the law firm’s 12 offices.

    Paul Smith’s College — a small, private college located in the Adirondacks — announced that Jeané Coakley will deliver the keynote address at its 70th commencement on May 6, at 11 a.m.

    Coakley is a sports reporter/anchor with SportsNet New York (SNY). She joined the cable network in 2010 and contributes to its sports and entertainment news shows, including “SportsNite,” “Daily News Live” and “Loud Mouths.” Coakley is also SNY’s lead New York Jets beat reporter.

  • Rapid Response Monitoring to add 125 new jobs, aided by state incentives

    SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Rapid Response Monitoring Services Inc., a Syracuse–based provider of electronic security-monitoring services, plans to add 125 jobs in Syracuse with help from the state.

    Rapid Response will also retain 325 positions at the alarm and security company, the office of Gov. Andrew Cuomo said in a news release issued Monday.
