BRANDING STRATEGIST

JOB SUMMARY:
This position is a full-time position and will be responsible for selling advertising for the Business Journal News Network comprised of publications in the Central New York, Mohawk Valley, and Southern Tier Business Journals, in the Book of ListsHCP and other digital newsletters, digital ads for CNYBJ.com and event sponsorships for BizEventz to prospective clients while maintaining and servicing existing clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
   • Identify and solicit new business; creating a full pipeline of prospects.
   • Maintain and grow current relationships with already established clients.
   • Develop and deliver effective sales presentations
   • Work collaboratively with other team members.
   • Research companies and competition to develop a target list.
   • Exceed established sales goals.
   • Set up appointments with clients and prospects.
   • Develop a phone call plan to ensure your schedule is full of appointments.

QUALIFICATIONS: 
   • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and social networking platforms
   • Prospecting skills a must.
   • Strong relationship-building skills
   • Must be organized and self-motivated and assertive
   • Negotiation and closing skills
   • Excellent communications skills
   • Professional appearance
   • Flexibility to attend after hour events when needed

WORK EXPERIENCE:
   • 2+ years in media/advertising sales is preferred, but not required
   • Digital advertising experience is a plus

EDUCATION:
   • College degree preferred

SALES ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

JOB SUMMARY:

The Business Journal News Network is looking for someone who is looking to start their sales career but doesn’t have enough sales experience to jump in head first. This position is an entry-level position in our sales department. This comes with a great opportunity to work with seasoned sales reps and will help with understanding the intricacies of being in sales. This person will also play a lead generation role, creating appointments for the sales team. Will report directly to the sales manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
   • Various administrative duties supporting the sales team
   • Schedule appointments by phone for sales reps
   • Create PowerPoint presentations, database management, and sales report generation
   • Efficiently work with the sales team 
   • Various administrative duties and contract management
   • Create, generate (work with production) and distribute promotional material to sales reps
   • Maintain and coordinate promo materials
   • Ensure website pages pertaining to sales are up to date
   • Organization of historical papers and other materials
   • Help maintain digital sales schedules
   • Other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
   • Skilled with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word duties 
   • Ability to learn our CRM software
   • Attention to detail is essential
   • Strong analytical ability
   • Ability to meet strict deadlines with the highest quality level of work

QUALIFICATIONS:
   • High School diploma a must - college degree preferred
