New York fruit production fell last year

The value of New York’s 2012 fruit production totaled $323 million, according to the USDA New York field office. That’s down more than 6 percent from $345 million in 2011 as adverse weather conditions took a toll

New York’s unemployment rate fell to 7.8 percent in April from 8.2 percent in March, hitting its lowest level since March 2009. That’s according to preliminary figures the New York State Department of Labor released today.
