Construction spending dips in July, rises year over year

National construction spending dropped in July from June despite year-over-year growth, according to the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), a construction industry trade group.

New York’s unemployment rate fell to 7.8 percent in April from 8.2 percent in March, hitting its lowest level since March 2009. That’s according to preliminary figures the New York State Department of Labor released today.
