Washington Station gains another tenant

The law firm Harris Beach, PLLC plans to relocate from its current downtown Syracuse office to the new Washington Station building by the end of the year.

Harris Beach announced the planned move today. The firm, currently located at 300 S. State St., will take 13,800 square feet on the second floor of the building.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo today announced an agreement between the state and the Oneida Indian Nation that will have the Nation paying the state an estimated $50 million a year in Turning Stone Resort & Casino revenue in return for a guarantee that no other casinos are built in Central New York.

New York’s unemployment rate fell to 7.8 percent in April from 8.2 percent in March, hitting its lowest level since March 2009. That’s according to preliminary figures the New York State Department of Labor released today.
