SRC, Inc. won a $20 million contract from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to test new chemicals entering the U.S. market.

The five-year deal calls for SRC, a nonprofit research and development corporation, to evaluate the manufacture, use, and environmental consequences of the new substances. The company will also develop new methods to assess existing chemicals in commercial and consumer products and identify safer alternatives.
